Lotus Desaru 29 - 31 Dec

The last getaway before the school term starts! We explored this resort with our church mate.

Never ending water fun that never fails to keep the kids happy!
They even had the flume…Keziah finally sat in it on her own.

Crashing waves on the shores in the early morning...

Can't miss seafood dinner at least for once on the trip to Desaru. So good that we were busy eating away and forgot to take shots of the delicious food till we had finished it all.
 Ostrich Farm enroute back home..
Abel had no fear feeding those ostriches. Some were mild but others could rip your vegetables off your hands if you don't grip them tight.

What does an ostrich which shed its feathers look like?
High protein low cholestrol ostrich meat and omelette.

Cookiez!

Oatmeal Chocoloate Chip this time!

 Hands everywhere!
Yummies…just like Famous Amos crumbling in the mouth! Ok abit too far fetched!

Xmas Indulgence

Indulgence by no one else but Daddy...
and Shu Shu..Ooops no pics of those presents: A soccer net, thomas bag and lunchbox for Abel and Barbie for Keziah..

Letter E - short vowel

We started back on our routine of letter adventure. Seriously there's really few short vowel letter 'E' to walk about. So we played around with EGGS one morning for breakfast. Trying to guess which egg was cooked and which was raw.

Cooked egg spins fast

Raw eggs wobbles due to inertia since the yolk is in motion.

Nothing it's better than eating it up!

Incidentally Mommy found a dvd on How the egg becomes chick from the library titled Magic School Bus Cracks a Yolk.

Books we found too at the library:
The elephant story
If the elephant wore trousers
Eggs and Chicken
Deers - to know about elk

We sang some silly ELEPHANT song and rhyme:

Eddy Elephant
(Tune: Oh the grand old duke of York)
Here comes Eddy Elephant
To talk to you and me
He just says ‘e…’
He just says ‘e…’
He belongs to Mr E.

The Elephant
Here comes the elephant,
he moves so slowly.
His trunk swings to and fro.
He’s so big,
he can’t even jump.
He sits down with a great big thump!

Next, we explored our mystery ENVELOPE to find our memory verse for the week!

More to come….

Calzone or Burritos?

Learnt this trick from a friend. We often cook beef Bolognese with pasta but what more can we do with it when you just simply have too much meat sauce.

Get some tortilla and make some calzone by filling it with meat topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Oven it till crisp and there you go! A calzone oozing with meat and sticky cheese. Hmm…somehow look more like a burrito! Kids just love them!

Ice Skating

Keziah had her first experience on ice a week or so back as Novena Square was having this acitivty. She was rather fearful but got the hang of it after awhile.

Today we went again. Going for double blades to single blades, she balanced herself on ice and move around in little penguin steps as they called it for beginners. Good job!

Christmas Prom

It's the kids' music school yearly Christmas Prom. They were both performing.

Cheeky faces...
 Sweetie smiles...
More to come but have to wait for photos from Uncles and Aunties coz our camera ran out of battery..

Christmas Dolls by Act 3

We had been going around for quite a few shows this year end. Act 3 put up a play on Christmas Dolls at Suntec. It was one of those more quiet shows with few queues but a heartwarming one which told of how the dolls, belonging to a poor girl, helped her family tided through hard times. Keziah even teared as she listened to the play at one point when the girl contemplated selling the dolls.

Prelude to Xmas

Yes, the kids' first Xmas present. Loads of encouragement to brush your teeth and keep them clean.

Road Trip to Malaysia 12 - 15 Dec

We tagged along our friends on a road trip to Malaysia. This time we headed for Port Dickson, Sunway Lagoon @ KL and A'Famosa at Ayer Keroh all in 4D3N. A total of 7 cars and 8 families sped their way up. We headed out early at 5.30 am and only stop over for breakfast at Machap.

Frankly, we were the odd one out as the rest of the families have always met up every now and then, and we really only know the Lians. It's heartwarming to see how Keziah could mingle easily with the rest and Cheryl never fail to keep Keziah in the loop despite having all her gang of friends around her. In fact, the two were always hanging out together. How simple are kids' friendship!

First stop: The Port Dickson Mini Zoo. Yes, mini as it says but animals are always amazing to the kids.

The kids were so fascinated over feeding the goats that they practically picked up all the leaves on the ground to feed them.

What's Abel plucking? Starfruit! First time seeing starfruit trees! Guess what, the goats ate them too.

A lunch of seafood.

We were at Avilion for the day. It's one resort we were never tired of going back to again. Coincidentally there was a carnival going on and the kids had some fun with simple games.
 Wet and wild as usual.
 As the sun went down….
The two 'monkeys' got wild in the room after a shower down.
Never fail to appreciate the sunset.

We were all so tired so it's hitting the nearest place for dinner. A simple local fare. The fish was yummy though.

13 December
We headed down to Sunway Lagoon and arrived at Sunway Pyramid Hotel.

The room was fantastic. Cozy and we had great view of the other hotel and Sunway Lagoon from our window!

Without further ado, we headed for the theme park. We explored the Wildlife Park.
Interesting animals in sight! Hedgehogs, Star Tortoise, Red and Green Iguana (first time Mommy knew there were red ones around), Wallabies, Skunk and many more. Mommy also learnt something new that turtles have flippers and tortoises have legs while terrapins can live both no land and water. Such a trivial truth but Mommy just missed it!
Abel certainly had no fear of feeding the animals and petting them.

Now, it's Amusement Park time. Rides for the old and young.

Then it's all soaked in the Water Park!
The complete group photo of all 16 adults and 14 children!

Sumptuous dinner at a Taiwan Restaurant at Sunway Pyramid Mall.
Just a stroll around the mall after dinner and guess what the kids found?
 The lovely night scene...

14 December
An early morning walk before we left for A'Famosa.

Off we go to A'Famosa. Real countryside with condo style living.
After settling down we drove off to Malacca for lunch at Jonker 88 which was well known for its desserts.

15 December
We ventured down for go-karting in the vicinity.
The kids were all excited to go on it. However our dear girl was just happy being the beauty to accompany the beau. All all had great fun being driver or pillion as they feel the win breeze past them.

The happy kids!

Our water babies just didn't get enough of water. So off we headed for Seng Kang Swimming Complex to explore the pool, one of the newest with exciting water features for the kids.

Till the next trip!
